[22ME]D|1SGT.Ayrton']CONTRIBUTIONS WELCOME - COME ONE COME ALL
ESSEX 14 flags. Complex island.
Helo pads at either end are spawnpoints
Rock hills and fir tree stands
100 points gets the bleed
North Side:
Flags 1,2 and 3 are worth 10 points each, altogether = 30
Flags 4 and 5 are worth 15 points each, altogether = 30
Flags 6 and 7 are worth 20 points each, altogether = 40
Total = 100
Going Inverse from the South Side:
Flags 14, 13 and 12 are worth 10 points each, altogether = 30
Flags 11 and 10 are worth 15 points each, altogether = 30
Flags 9 and 8 are worth 20 points each, altogether = 30
Total = 100
Flag 7 is special. A sat scan trailer is possessed by the side that controls it. An enemy sat trailer must be destroyed to remove the sat scan capability and obtain your own sat trailer. 2 C4 packs were needed to destroy the trailer. (thanks Sparrk)
With all flags taken and a 50/50 split (100 points each) neither side bleeds.
Bleed rate is 20 tickets per minute.
Flag 1 - Target 1- Points = 10 Cap radius is 10 meters
1 MBT
1 DPV
1 Humvee/Vodnik
Edit: SAW at the road, entrance - from Sparrk's post -
The biggest and baddest AA gun I’ve ever seen right at the Flag. Phalanx. These guns are hell on infantry and soft vehicles. A tank round, anti tank round, or C4 will take them out. The AA gatling gun will overheat at 7 seconds continuous burst (count 1001, 1002...).
Note that you can enter these guns from either of the two modules. Get in them if you can. Otherwise the enemy is sure to.
Inside the AA gun is in the capzone
You need to approach the flag from the sides, go around to the back.
The rock face is unclimbable.
There is a sealed warehouse and barriers. A fortified flag.
Bridge is blowable with 3 C4
Riverhut - Flag 2 - Points = 10Cap Radius is 10m
Little house has a SAW
Corners of house are in the capzone
It doesn’t appear that the dock, water or any tree stands (even the palms!) are in the capzone.
Boathouse - Flag 3 - Points = 10 Cap radius is 10 meters
1 Boat
1 MBT
The back of the land side tree grove is in the capzone
No part of the buildings appear to be in capzone
In the ramshackle boathouse building even if starting in the water, you can get into a firing position on a bit of ground in the middle of the wall on the shore side.
Up from this flag is a small building by the bridge which you can enter.
The bridge has walkways underneath it and falling off the walkways may put you in a trap.
Edit: There is a TOW - Sparrk noted - at the N end of the bridge.
Target 2 - Flag 4 - Points = 15Cap radius is 10 meters
Many protected places in the capzone, including at the concrete barrier piece at the outside of the entrance.
Forfified flag with walkway walls.
Equipment is a giant AA gun and DPV and a SAW in the guardhouse, plus a SAW in the sandbags outside the gate. This last one looks potentially useful.
The wall has 2 gaps but they appear impassable.
Entry is through the gate opening which appears to be the key
There is a path on the shore to the point, running up from the North
Beachhouse - Flag 5 - Points = 15Cap radius is 10 meters
Buildings are open.
Many inside areas in capzone, including in the water under one half of the dock
The area behind the small building is in the capzone.
Notable is the carrier wreck in the water (the Essex). You can climb on it and walk on it. Snipers might like it. One perch in the carrier in the middle around the radar dish (kind of high) gives a good view of the bridge, and with a simple swivel, of parts of the Beachhouse.
3 packs of C4 to blow the bridge.
This bridge also has walkways underneath
Gas station - Flag 6 - Points = 20Cap radius is 10 meters
Equipment is a Humvee/Vodnik
Open flagzone. Really is no cover in the flagzone, just nearby as is apparent. There is a ladder at the back of the garage building and one at the front of the very small building connected to the gargage. There is an alley between the pump and garage buildings. It seems like the roof of the garage would be in the flagzone, but it is not, just barely. Deceptive flag in that way.
Also, the SAW on the prow of the boat across the water has a great view of the flagzone of the gas station.
Visually, look at the corner of the garage to quickly locate the flag.
Military Training - Flag 7 - Points = 20Cap radius is 4 (four) meters.
Capture brings a sat scan trailer and a DPV plus SAW’s in the small corner building and one in the second floor room of the big flag building (but none in the tower)
This flag is a fortified compound with a swimming pool.
The road goes through a tunnel building to the flag
The swimming pool is empty and has ladders.
The flag zone is on top of the roof of the big building. It is accessible by going up through the building stairways
An enemy sat trailer must be destroyed to remove the sat scan capability and obtain your own sat trailer. 2 C4 packs were needed to destroy the trailer.
There are no breaks in the fencelines, but you can climb up at the NE (?) corner - the right hand side as you face the flag from the town side - and get in the palm trees in that corner and get in the small building or go along the right hand side fence. You can also get under the fence there.
Note the tunnel building has ladders on the compound side of the building, as do other connected buildings. These look useful.
I noticed too that since the stairs are the way to get to the flag, a troop in the very thick vegatation near there might be a good guard.
A very important flag.
Harbor - Flag 8 - Points = 20Flag is inside the warehouse.
Capzone is 10 (maybe 11) meters
Capture brings a boat (thanks Sparrk)
plus a SAW at the prow of each boat at each end of the warehouse
There is some cover inside, crates, etc. Notable is the capzone in the enclosed steel bin on the ground. You can get in it by jumping from the lumber. Can’t get out though. Enemy grenade would be bad as would a shot from the walkway above.
There is one ladder from the water on the long side of the warehouse, towards the flag end,
Also, the SAW on the prow of the boat across the water from the gas station has a great view of the gas station flagzone.
The apartment buildings across the water from the warehouse (look east) have ladders and might be sniper perches.
Spawns are often on the walkway above the flag.
Seaside Hotel - Flag 9 - Points = 20Cap radius is 10 meters
Small wall is in capzone in many places
Hotel is closed but is a ladder at the back; The roof corner apparently is NOT in the capzone;
It might be possible to para drop from the roof to the doorway cover and be in the flag zone.
Equipment is a Humvee/Vodnik, a SAW on the rock on the far side the hotel (toward the harbor, near the water) and a TOW in the rocks across the road from the hotel
Note the hotel roof has a view of the Harbor area for line of sight and fire opportunities.
The boat hulk in the water has a ladder and some protected hidy holes where one could put the bridge, parts of the hotel and parts of the Bravo point under fire or observation.
EDIT: The road tracks in the water to the SE of the bridge between Hotel and Bravo is essentially a ford.
Bravo - Flag 10 - Points = 15Cap radius is 10 meters
Portions of the building and trees are in the cap zone
Apparently no equipment (?)
Took me 4 packs of C4 to blow the bridge
Alpha - Flag 11- Points = 15Cap radius is 10 meters
Dockhouse provides some cover in the capzone, including in the water
Capture brings a SAW at the small sandbags at the edge of the road.
Note that you can find a firing position even if you are in the water in the dockhouse near the door
Gas Station South - Flag 12 - Points = 10Cap radius is 10 meters
Equipment here is
1 MBT
1 Humvee/ Vodnik
Areas behind the nearby concrete walls are in the capzone.
Target 3 Flag 13 - Points = 10A big AA gun on top of a closed bunker and off the road, down a hill through trees
Equipment is one boat.
Kind of hard to see; Steep too, may not be able to get vehicles out
Cap radius is 10 meters
The AA gun is in the cap radius
Some cover in the cap radius is provided by the nearby vegatation and a partial wall structure as well as parts of the building and one part of the water
There are 2 ladders, one on each end of the building
The building is on a beach you can swim up on
The AA gun is pretty exposed to a SRAW shot
Target 4 - Flag 14 - Points = 10Equipment there is:
1 MBT
1 Humvee/Vodnik
1 DPV
1 big AA gun at the flag
Flag is on a steep rocky hill
Approach is from the hangar side ramp, otherwise unclimbable
Cap radius is 10 meters
You can get in the cap zone on the outer rim of the wall
The AA gun is in the capzone
You can jump over the short wall.
There is a sidedoor at the back of the equipment shed
Notable is the beach area on the inlet below and ahead of the flag. This may prove useful.
Helos and boats make things more wide open. The edges of the map are the out of bounds lines.
Some possible unassisted infiltration routes (when relevant):
D|2Lt.Sparrk']Ayrton’s intel matched mine for the most part. Here are a few additional items that I had.
Flag 1 - Target 1SAW located in the corner next to the road entrance. Limited line of fire, but covers the road approach fairly well.
Boathouse - Flag 3There is a TOW on the south side of the bridge facing east across the bridge.
Target 2 - Flag 4Practice this AA placement. You can hit the bridge at Gasstation, but you can’t see it. A spotter would make this valuable if defending the bridge. It can also be hit from the bridge by a tank. Again, visibility is an issue but practice/testing can make this a useful tactic.
Beachhouse - Flag 5The area just over the north wall is in the cap zone.
Military Training Center (Flag 7)This flag is going to be a key flag to get/defend. In addition to the only Sat Trailer, the ridge behind it will be a key asset as it allows views and quick attacks of Hotel (9) and Gas Station (6) and views of the bridge between the Hotel and Bravo flags.
Access to flag 7 can be made from the road, up the ridge from hotel (across exposed fence line), and up the hill from Gas Station both the ridge to the NW and the NE hill crawling under fence. Moving quickly from Gas station on foot or Hotel in HV will be critical.
Northern accesses to Flag 7
Southern and Eastern accesses to Flag 7

A key location to hide will be the ridge behind the building. Other than Hilo drops the only way there is from the hill behind the building. From there you can view the rooftop and flag (ideal for C4 anchor). It has quick access from this point to the steps into the building. The ridge covers the main battle area from flag 6 to 10, has views of most city rooftops, and it can be used effectively as an attack starting point for Gasstation and Hotel.
D|1SGT.Ayrton']Very cool, Sparrk.
Let's see if I can follow up.
If Flag 7 - Military Training Center - is important, then we need to get there as quickly as possible.
One side will have the Gas Station - Flag 6. Let's look at it.
There are two spawn points I could get out of Gas Station.
Here:
or Here: (ding, ding, ding, ding, ding)
This is the one close to the path to the Military Training Center, so it's the one to work with.
Remember the view, the red lettering. If you see that and you are on the mission to secure Flag 7,
you know are one of the chosen ones.
Turn and you'll see this. Note the Aimpoint. It's on a flatspot that gives access up the hill. Sprint.
Turn uphill and see this - again locate the aimpoint. That's your ticket through the thicket.
Closer up to the top, you go like this:
Keep pushing and you see the stairs to the promised land. A spec ops can sprint all the way from spawn to flag.
Practice will make perfect.
So, does this make sense? Has anyone read it?

D|1SGT.Ayrton']Doing a very preliminary experiment, it looks like most spawns at the Hotel - Flag 9, will be in the grounds around the hotel building, some near the Vodnik/Humvee (Hotel vehicle).
However.
Remember the only other spawnpoint at the Gas Station, above? This:
Turning left shows you this:
Because the Vodnik at the Hotel is tight in the parking lot, the Gas Station vehicle will have a good chance at beating the Hotel vehicle to the Harbor -Flag 8 and its bonus boat. We'll see. Stay tuned.
